How a unique house design was created
A cozy two-story dwelling of the famous skater is located in the village of Istra in the suburbs. The shore of the Istra reservoir is indeed an ideal place for a figure skating star. In the winter, when the pond freezes and turns into a huge ice rink, Ilya and his son Martin get out here to skate and play hockey.
Averbuch notes the incredible atmosphere of this place. He consciously searched for a summer cottage far from the bustle of Moscow. The road home allows you to escape from work and switch to a relaxed vacation in the circle of loved ones.
It was not possible to settle in new housing right away, it happened only a few years after buying a cottage. The move was delayed due to the fact that the cottage was undergoing renovation work on the arrangement and decoration of the internal space.
The layout and facade of the building, it was decided not to change. Ilya’s only desire is to remake the interior design so that it feels homely warmth and a cozy atmosphere. According to the celebrity, he did not want to see cold shades in the interior, because there was enough ice and spotlights at work.
To renovate the house, the owner invited a professional decorator. There was no doubt in choosing a specialist: they became a long-time acquaintance of the skater, Natalya Pantyukhina, who had previously designed the design of his Moscow apartment.

The country cottage is built of wood, and on the territory adjacent to it there is a park area with paths, lanterns and plenty of vegetation. A lot of oaks, pines, birches are planted on the site. It is worth noting that the courtyard looks very clean and well maintained.
Interior decoration
Natural wood trim is preserved not only outside but also inside the building. Spacious apartments have two floors. The first was occupied by a living room combined with a kitchen and dining area. Light beige colors prevail here, visually expanding the space, and red and blue interior items are correctly placed as color accents in the room.
The main task of the designer was to preserve the atmosphere of a suburban home, so the kitchen-living room did not undergo significant changes. The old coating was removed from the walls, a white emulsion took its place. It also required finding suitable furniture and updating textiles.Now there are a lot of wooden surfaces, linen and cotton fabrics.
Unusual carpets, stylish lamps, furniture made from natural materials, colored poufs and decorative pillows - every detail creates a soulful atmosphere in the room.
The space of the second floor is given for bedrooms and an office. It is no less cozy and stylish.
to contents ↑An important part of the interior is the rocking chair, where Ilya likes to spend time. Another favorite place is the fireplace in the guest house, where he gathers his relatives and friends over the weekend.
Guest house
Initially, the plans were to expand the bath room a bit, but the alteration turned into the creation of a whole guest house with a bar and a real hammam. This part of the home is brutally framed: a large leather sofa, original black and white lamps, ceramic vases, wooden figurines and textile panels with drawings.
The loft space of the guest house is more like a bachelor's den. There is a lot of leather, metal, stone. The background for them was the walls of the timber, additionally covered with translucent paint, which well emphasizes the texture of the tree.
The skater loves his summer house because it is always warm and comfortable here. But he regrets that due to the busy work schedule, it is not possible to come here as often as we would like. This makes you especially appreciate those days when you manage to go out of town and get together in a friendly company near the fireplace.
