Building a Bodrov House in the USA
For the past 20 years, Sergei Bodrov Sr. has been living in the United States, where, according to him, there is a heavenly place with a wonderful climate - Malibu. At first, Bodrov acquired a plot of land on which there was already a small old building. After that, a decision was made to demolish this building and build a new cottage. Design and construction were entrusted to Bodrov by the Uruguayan architect, who is known among colleagues and customers for his incredibly creative and bold approach to work.

The place where Bodrov now lives is literally a few minutes walk from the ocean. The owner needs no more than 10 minutes to get to Beverly Hills. The site is surrounded by beautiful trees, surrounded by a lot of vegetation: cacti, palm trees, fruit shrubs. There is no city noise - everywhere there is a pleasant, relaxing silence. According to Bodrov, the place reminds him of the quiet lane of the Arbat. Nearby there is also a park with tennis courts, where Sergey is often.

The financial costs of building a house were small, especially in comparison with Moscow rates. Bodrov calculated that approximately the same amount he would have spent only on arranging communications in a house in the suburbs. The advantages of the location of the mansion in Malibu at a low cost do not end there: it is always warm, the climate is very mild, favorable for health.
The house of Sergei Bodrov is one-story. At the main entrance there is a vast outdoor terrace furnished with decorative figures, a flower pot with plants, and modest furniture for relaxing. The mansion itself is painted orange with gray accents that harmonize with paving tiles.

The interior style in Bodrov’s house can be described as minimalism with ethnic elements. The owner considers the main place to be a spacious living room with a ceiling height of 5 meters. There is a lot of light, fresh air. The walls are completely white, as well as an unusual multi-level ceiling. Separated by broken lines, it perfectly zones the room, helps create an interesting play of light and shadow.
The wood flooring in shade of “light walnut” is combined with similar beams at the top of the room. A graphic drawing is made on the central wall: equestrian warrior from Mongolia. The role of decor in the living room is also played by:

- colorful moroccan textiles.
The living area has a working area - there is a desk and light chairs. At the window, covered with bamboo blinds, there is a soft brown sofa and an original-shaped coffee table. The lighting system is represented by an interesting chandelier-fan, as well as laconic black floor lamps.
Sergey Bodrov loves his house very much and does not want to change his place of residence in the near future. He is not too sociable, appreciates privacy, tranquility and comfort, and his mansion fully meets these requirements.
