The popular actor Andrei Smolyakov has been happily married to Daria Razumikhina, a well-known ethnic designer, owner of her own clothing brand Razu Mikhina. The couple lives in a Moscow apartment, which is decorated so unusual that finding a second one will be problematic. The choice of an unusual apartment
Andrei Smolyakov met Daria when she was already the owner of a spacious apartment in a historic place on Old Basmannaya Street. The house where the property is located is very old, still pre-revolutionary. There used to be communal apartments, and 18 people had to resettle Darya to buy their dream home! It is no coincidence that this district of Moscow was chosen by the designer: a woman was born nearby, spent her childhood here, moreover, the location of the rooms in the apartment was very convenient for her.
After acquiring square meters for the former tenants and their departure, a grandiose repair began. Daria herself thought of the interior, because the apartment was to become a place of residence, and a working workshop, and an exhibition hall. All ideas were completely successful due to the special arrangement of rooms, high ceilings, the presence of two exits and long corridors. Andrey Smolyakov appeared here later, when the repair was already completed, and the unique interior at first struck his imagination. Due to the similarity of hobbies and tastes, passion for Oriental culture, husband and wife together acquire accessories for the apartment and consider it the most comfortable for life.
Home design
The classic flooring acts as a flooring in the housing of Smolyakov and Razumikhina. The walls are glued with ordinary, but high-quality wallpaper. Most of the finishing materials are natural wood, stone, tile, cotton, paper. All housing is decorated with ethno-style textiles. The furniture in Smolyakov’s apartment is the simplest - it was purchased at IKEA, but accessories and details give the house a unique charm.

Ethnic style living room
The living room in the apartment of Smolyakov and Razumikhina is a real museum of ethno-art. One wall in the room is occupied by a large diamond-shaped rack for textiles, hats, scarves and various decorations. Daria makes sets for exhibitions from these items of clothing. On the other wall are Native American embroideries, as well as ancient Chinese silver jewelry. The couple brought these unique products from travel, because on every trip they are looking for new items for the home collection.
From the furniture in the living room there is an original red chest of drawers, which also serves as a TV stand. The dresser, as well as a mirror hanging nearby, was bought by Smolyakov’s wife from the famous designer A. Nemolyaeva. In the center of the room is a coffee table with lots of accessories, knives and antique gizmos that were brought from France. Sari are hung on the windows of the room, and a cow skin serves as a carpet. You can relax in the living room on a small sofa or multi-colored soft chairs.

The kitchen, like the whole apartment, has a very unusual finish. The walls in the room are decorated with a round beam of a light shade, because it resembles a country estate. One of the walls is decorated with many decorative plates and panels, under them is a table with a tablecloth in ethnic motifs. The set and dining set is made of carved wood. Also in the kitchen there is a small soft sofa for relaxing, a tumble dryer and two whole washing machines - they are regularly used in Daria’s work.
Unusual details and favorite place of Smolyakova
In Smolyakov’s apartment you can find a lot of amazing things. For example, a fabric hangs above the entrance - this is used for weddings in India. Even in the apartment you can see various objects of the times of the USSR, for example, an account book. Other non-trivial accessories include:
- Mialu tribal jewelry
- ikat from Sumba island;
- old books;
- antique spinning wheels;
- costumes of past centuries.
Smolyakov considers the bedroom, which is decorated with handmade carpets from Tibet and India, to be his favorite place in the apartment. There is an original screen, dressing room and access to the bathroom, decorated in the style of Gaudi. By the way, the bathroom is made in white, black, yellow and pink colors, with one of its sides lined with whole tiles, the other broken.
For Andrei Smolyakov, it is important to observe authentic everyday objects and creative ideas in everyday things on a daily basis. In his opinion, this gives life meaning and provides a positive attitude for the whole day!
