Julia has a very creative family. Her father Vladimir Menshov and mother Vera Alentova are one of the most famous acting couples in our country. Few people know, but Julia is an artist in the third generation: her grandmother and grandfather on the mother's side were also actors.
The acting environment left an imprint on the choice of a future profession. In childhood, the girl attended various circles and participated in school activities. The closest thing to Yulia was literature, she wanted to become a journalist. But by the will of fate, Menshov entered the Moscow Art Theater School-Studio at the acting faculty, and in 1990 received a diploma with honors.

Menshova’s husband is Igor Gordin, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. The couple has been married for more than twenty years, during which time they twice became parents - they have an adult son Andrei and daughter Taisiya.

Menshova is a native Muscovite. Her parents moved to the capital before the wedding and the birth of their daughter. First, the couple huddled in dormitories, and the first own housing was a small two-room apartment, which Vera Valentinovna received in the theater.

Prior to the birth of her daughter, Julia and her husband lived in the “kopeck piece” acquired for her fees. Then the spouses appeared new housing more spacious.
