Advantages and disadvantages

Mounting nails have many advantages, thanks to which they are widely used in construction and repair:

• no harm to rough raw materials, the elimination of rust;
• tolerance of low temperatures, including several cycles of freezing and defrosting;
• quick setting time, no need to hold products for a long time with your hands;
• the possibility of use in any environment, including in wet;

The disadvantages of this product are few. Adhesives on solvents are quite toxic until they dry completely, and certain precautions must be taken when working with them. It is difficult to apply quick-hardening mass without experience and skill, therefore it is better to try gluing on rough surfaces.

Products on a water-acrylic basis adhere to smooth substrates worse, and this is its main disadvantage. For metal, it does not fit well, so it’s better not to risk it. Instructions for use

Most products have similar application instructions. Here are the main recommendations given by the manufacturer and experienced craftsmen:

1. Before starting work, the foundation must be prepared, otherwise the adhesion quality will decrease. Remove foreign elements, dirt, dust, degrease both parts to be glued (if required).
2. They monitor that the temperature of the working surfaces is positive. In the room, it should also be above + 5 ... + 10 degrees. Some Moment products allow you to work in a colder environment, which is marked on the package.
3. Before applying, cut off the seal from the cartridge, put on the tip, cut it at an angle of 45 degrees, choosing the right size for the hole. Put the cartridge in the gun so that the disc rests on the bottom of the cylinder, make a test press. To stop the flow of the substance, press the blocking tab in order to reduce the pressure.

4. Lubricate one of the surfaces with a mass. Do this with points of size 2 * 2 cm every 20-30 cm, or draw a wavy line. Typically, the second option is used for products of large area to enhance the initial setting. Small and narrow elements are covered with one strip. Liquid nails under the brand name “One for all Superstrong” can also be applied with a roller, which is ideal for smooth, even and dimensional substrates. Heavy products are covered with a notched trowel, slightly departing from the edges.
5. After applying the mass, the elements are tightly joined, hold for as long as specified in the instructions. If necessary, long-term use masking tape or clips.

If the base does not absorb moisture well, do not apply the substance continuously - it is necessary to leave gaps in contact with air. Glues on solvents can be used in a special way: grease the surface with them, connect two parts, tear and fold them again after a couple of minutes. If you have to make a seam with a width of not more than 1-2 cm, "Moment" is quite suitable as a sealant. They smoothly fill all cracks and cavities, fitting them tightly to the side surfaces.

Cleaning the surface of glue

Unfrozen composition is easier to remove: just wipe the base with water or solvent. To get rid of stains of hardened mass, you will have to purchase a scraper and a special cleaner. Use the scraper as carefully as possible so as not to damage the surface. You can also leave the product in the sun for a day, if possible. The stain will soften, and it will be easier to remove it.

Solvent Free, “Titanium” WB-50 are also suitable for mounting tiles, and both brands are not afraid of shrinkage and vibration, they are moisture resistant. For mounting mirrors, you can buy Zigger 93, LN-930 - they do not have substances that dissolve the amalgam. Powerful water-repellent properties are possessed by Tub Surround, Nail Power, which are used if it is assumed that the seam contacts with water.
