When working with paints and varnishes

There are several situations in which a protective coating with tape is used, but the desired result is not always obtained:

1. Good paint and poor finish. If you buy a good paint, but forget about the preparation of ceilings and walls, then a covering film can be harmful. For example, if you use a not very expensive putty, which is simply sanded, then it simply cannot withstand the force with which the film is torn off. The same situation will occur if the filler layers are not primed before grinding. After applying several coats of paint, masking tape is removed to apply other colors. But there is a high risk that the putty layers come off along with the tape. The partition boundary will be damaged. If you plan to use masking tape, then be sure to prepare the ceilings and walls well.
2. Cheap paint and good base. In this case, you should not count on an excellent result. Almost all protective cloths with a paint layer are made on a paper basis. Cheap paints contain a lot of water, so you have to apply twice as many layers of film. Each layer softens the concealer, and then the film becomes a little thicker. When you need to remove it, then it will be too thick and already without elasticity. In some places, the covering film will lag or paint will leak under the surface. If you need to use several colors, then you should choose high-quality colorful materials.
3. Cannot get a straight line. The masking tape is glued on top of the paint, and you need to get to the exact transition between the colors, but it is unlikely that you can repeat the exact line. Fresh paint is easily damaged when torn off. It’s better to draw a transition line with a brush.

Film for other types of work

Masking tape is needed not only for working with paints.It holds well on different surfaces, so the range of its application is quite wide:

• use for facing: the tape connects adjacent tiles, this allows to reduce the difference at the seams;
• when wall facing: fixes a tile;
• door installation. If you seal the canvas with masking tape, and the boxes around the perimeter, without touching the gaps, the foam will not damage the door. And from the mounting foam the traces are not so easy to wash;
• installation of corners. With the masking tape, the corners can be fixed securely without any problems;
• holding various elements that are attached to the glue;
• protects walls if only ceiling repairs are done.

The advantages of a covering film

Cover tape with adhesive tape protects everything that is possible during moving or repair. Its main advantages:
