3. Environmental friendliness. The selected material should not have a toxic effect on the human body.
4. Lack of smell. For outdoor use, the smell does not matter much, but the smell should not be stored for a long time indoors. The long-lasting smell of chemicals associated with the repair disrupts the cozy atmosphere of the home.

Alkyd

Foundation preparation

1. Remove scraps of old paint with scrapers.

3. To clean a surface by means of "skins" to the smooth basis.

8. Apply protective impregnation. This step is necessary if the selected enamel or primer mixture does not contain wood preservatives. By impregnation with a brush, all wood fibers are processed and left to dry completely.
9. After drying, the selected primer is applied. The primer should be applied, carefully staining all parts of the surface, performing movements along wood fibers. The adhesion of the decorative coating to the base and the consumption of paints and varnishes depend on the primer. Do not save on a primer: experienced craftsmen recommend that it be applied in 2-3 coats for durability of repair - each subsequent coat after the previous one dries.

After the last layer of soil is dried, you can start painting.

Features of painting

Painting wooden frames is slightly different from traditional woodwork. To obtain an excellent result, painting should be carried out as follows:

1. Apply a strip with a width of 3-5 mm on the surface near the glass with a thin brush. This will prevent the paint from splashing when the brush touches the glass and allows the wood-glass joint to be thoroughly painted.
