In industry, construction and in everyday life, various metal products and equipment are used. They are subject to wear and tear, and when they are outdoors, they are completely affected by temperature extremes and precipitation. To avoid corrosion, special protective equipment must be used. Heat-resistant enamel KO-811 is a popular material that is intended to increase the service life of various products.

Enamels with high temperature resistance
Currently, among the paints with high heat resistance, which also have weather and moisture resistance, organosilicon paints are leading. They are widely used for applying to heating pipes, water supply, boilers, batteries, equipment that is affected by elevated temperatures. According to the state standard GOST 11066-74, such products are applied to surfaces and operated at temperatures up to +400 degrees, and some even up to +500 degrees.
to contents ↑Enamel brand KO-811
KO-811 paint is part of the group of organosilicon paints and varnishes. It is prepared on the basis of a solution of organosilicon varnish and various pigments - the color is selected depending on the requested color of the material. Two types of enamel are produced - KO-811, KO-811K. The first specified material in shades is:
- the black;
- red;
- green.
KO-811K is enriched with stabilizing additives and is produced in a more extensive color scheme. It is white, red, blue, olive, brown, cyan, steel, yellow.
Enamels have a common property - the purpose of both is to protect steel, aluminum, titanium products from corrosion, which operate at temperatures up to +400 degrees. Also, coatings from these materials can be used in harsh climates - they withstand temperatures up to -60 degrees.
to contents ↑Description
Enamels under the brand name KO-811 are characterized by high oil resistance, gas resistance, moisture resistance, and can withstand atmospheric conditions. Most often they are used for coloring heating systems, furnaces, oil pipelines. Means are suitable for application to any metal products exposed to aggressive external influences. If necessary, they can be used to cover reinforced concrete, concrete, asbestos-cement structures.

Consumption per 1 square. m of both products in 2 layers - 100 g / m, each layer in thickness is 40-50 microns.
to contents ↑Application
Before applying the material, it is necessary to clean the surface of dirt, grease, dust, salts, other contaminants and the remnants of old coatings. After this, degreasing is carried out using solvent, acetone. Rust is removed with sandpaper or sandblasting machines. If the product is not intended to be used at a temperature of more than +100 degrees, it is permissible to treat only with a rust converter.
Before application, the material is diluted with xylene, toluene. In white enamel KO-811K, you can add up to 70% of the solvent, the rest is diluted by 30-40%. In order for the air bubbles to disappear, the paint is allowed to stand for 10 minutes after kneading. For KO-811K, the semi-finished product is combined with a 100: 6 stabilizer, and the finished product is used during the day.
Application methods - pneumatic spraying, airless spraying. Nozzle no more than 2.5 mm, temperature at the workplace - 30 ... +40 degrees. Enamel is applied in 2-3 layers, allow each to dry for 2 hours.
During the operation of the equipment, the final hardening of the material will occur. If it is intended to use products in an aggressive chemical environment, preliminary hardening is required at +250 degrees 20 minutes.
to contents ↑Differences between enamels 811 and 811K
The main difference is that KO-811 is a ready-made one-component material, and KO-811K is a two-component product from semi-finished enamel and stabilizer. For operation, you need to independently make a mixture of these components. The properties of enamels are almost the same, the difference is only in the mass of non-volatile substances. KO-811K also has a richer color palette.
Material KO-814
This paint is recommended for use on metal equipment, oil and gas pipelines, waste furnaces, automobile exhaust systems and other equipment. Its properties allow you to protect surfaces from high temperatures - up to +500 degrees.
Description
In addition to protection from elevated temperatures, the KO-814 material will protect against the influence of the cold (up to -50 degrees). This is a heat-resistant organosilicon enamel, which is also characterized by high moisture, salt, benz, and oil resistance. The tool is two-component. According to the certificate of conformity and GOST, it is sold as PAP-2 powder (aluminum) and semi-finished varnish KO-85. The components are combined in a ratio of 5: 100.

The following should be noted in the description of the material parameters:
- the appearance of the film is silvery, smooth, uniform;
- viscosity on a VZ-4 viscometer at a temperature of +20 degrees - 12-18 s;
- drying time at a temperature of +20 degrees - 2 hours, final polymerization - after 72 hours;
- coating strength on the U-1 device - 50 cm;
- resistance to the action of water at +20 degrees - 24 hours;
- resistance to gasoline at +20 degrees - 24 hours;
- consumption - 100-120 g / sq. m;
- number of layers - 1-2;
- layer thickness - 20-40 microns.
Preliminary work with a surface and means
After cleaning from any contaminants (rust, salt, grease, dirt), as well as from the remnants of the old coating, degrease with xylene, toluene. For the manufacture of enamel, 100 parts of varnish and 5 parts of aluminum powder are combined. Stir until smooth, hold for 10 minutes until the air flow stops. Use the product within 8 hours.
Painting works
Surface painting is carried out at a temperature of -30 ... + 40 degrees, air humidity - not higher than 80%. The metal base is painted on 2-3 layers, each is dried for at least an hour at room temperature (it is better to withstand 2 hours). If in the room or on the street where the work is carried out, the temperature is negative, the drying time will be 2-3 times longer. Full hardening occurs during operation in a hot room. For application, a direct spray method using pneumatic installations is used.
to contents ↑Material KO-813
This organosilicon enamel is also used to protect metal and metal products from corrosion; it withstands temperatures up to +500 degrees.
Description
Means KO-813 is resistant to atmospheric conditions, the influence of an aggressive environment.Most often it is used for painting boilers, turbines, heat pipes, gas pipelines, metal equipment. Enamel protects products that work in high humidity.
to contents ↑KO-813 is sold as varnish KO-815 and aluminum powder. Before use, the components are mixed 94: 6. After drying, a beautiful silver film or coating of other colors remains on the base - green, black, red.
