Properties and rules for the use of enamel XB-124

All surfaces of metal or wood, which are used in conditions of changing temperatures, cold climates, exposure to atmospheric precipitation, require the application of a protective coating.

Enamel XB-124 is perfectly suited for this purpose - it creates a film on the products that will increase the service life and prevent the transition to an unusable state. The tool combines durability, decorative properties and excellent technical characteristics.

Enamel Composition

The composition of the described paint contains special chemical components that provide all the basic qualities of the product. According to the technical data sheet of enamel (the product is made on the basis of the state standard - GOST 10144-89), the basis is polyvinyl chloride chlorinated resin.

To give the desired viscosity, organic solvents were added to the XB-124 enamel, to ensure other properties, the following were introduced:

  • fillers;
  • plasticizers;
  • alkyd resins.

Pigments are added to the paint to provide the desired color. The result is a finished suspension that has quality certificates, certificates and meets international standards. Shelf life of the paint is 6 years.

Enamel Properties

Wooden and metal products, which will be covered with a layer of enamel XB-124, are reliably protected from the influence of adverse damaging factors. The product is especially suitable for wood - in this case, additional application of a primer is not required, it is enough to apply three layers of paint. This will allow you to create a tread film on the surface for up to 6 years or more (if we are talking about operation in a temperate climate).

In a cold (arctic) climate, surfaces must be primed beforehand using an AK-070 primer, which contains aluminum particles. Three layers of enamel on top of such a primer allows the product to operate up to 5 years. In a tropical climate, preliminary priming is carried out using FL-03K on 2 layers, then four enamel layers are performed. This will help the products serve for at least 3 years.

Positive properties of the paint, distinguishing it from its analogues:

  • high anticorrosive qualities;
  • preventing the spread of rust, if any, before applying enamel;
  • providing a beautiful appearance;
  • ability to withstand temperature fluctuations;
  • resistance to fire, moisture, detergents, household chemicals, oils, gasoline;
  • elasticity;
  • durability.

Specifications

Before use, the following product specifications should be examined:

  1. The required temperature for application is from minus 10 to plus 30 degrees, humidity is less than 80%.
  2. The speed of primary drying is 3 hours if the temperature is above 20 degrees. Finally, the paint dries in a day.
  3. Enamel color - black, protective, gray; on request, the manufacturer can make a tool of a different color.
  4. The viscosity coefficient is 35-60 (using a VZ-246 viscometer with a 4 mm nozzle).
  5. Adhesion - 2 points.
  6. The degree of milling - 30 microns.
  7. The share of non-volatile substances is up to 33%.

If the paint has thickened, solvent R-4A can be used for dilution.

Scope of use

The main materials that are coated with enamel are metal and wood. This makes paint in demand in many industrial sectors - mechanical engineering, instrument making, etc.

Paint covers the car body, stoves, refrigerators, other household appliances, pipelines, chimneys. At home, the tool will come in handy - it will help protect products from corrosion, protect wooden houses from the effects of atmospheric phenomena.

Application Procedure

You can apply the tool in different ways. Having prepared a solution of the desired viscosity, if necessary using a solvent, you need to choose the appropriate method:

  • roller;
  • paint brush;
  • spray.

Application of enamel XB-124 spray

Before applying the paint, the product should be primed with special means - primers indicated above. The primer must dry completely so that the XB-124 enamel is applied to a dry surface. All subsequent layers should also partially dry before subsequent processing - work is carried out with an interval of 30 minutes.

Do not forget to remove all debris, dirt, dust from the surface before painting. Metal products are treated with white spirit to remove grease, rust spots are cleaned.

Enamel consumption

In order for the flow rate to be optimal, as well as the subsequent service life of the surfaces, the recommended temperature and humidity during application should be observed (we are talking about indicators near the working surface). Consumption depends on the correct viscosity (do not forget about the solvent), the number of layers (3 - 4), type of application. If you follow all the rules, the consumption per layer will be 120 - 170 grams per square meter when using a roller, brush. The consumption rate per 1 m2 when using a pneumatic sprayer is 110 - 130 g.

The cost of funds is low - only 100 rubles per liter. Since the expense is small, creating a high-quality coating will be quite economical. Enamel XB-124 is used in everyday life and in industry everywhere.
