HV-161 paint is intended for facades. This paint material (LKM) is a suspension of natural or synthetic components in the resin. The perchlorovinyl base allows you to get a variety of colors, to achieve quick drying, excellent adhesive characteristics. Therefore, the XB-161 is popular with buyers.
Fields of application
The specificity of XB-161 is the possibility of use for outdoor work in such conditions where protection from the negative effects of the external environment is needed. LKM of this type is suitable for painting facades of buildings, industrial workshops and is used for painting wood, concrete, building stone, drywall or brick.
Moreover, perchlorovinyl facade paint XB-161 is quite decorative. It creates a spectacular matte finish in rich color.

Features XB-161
Technical characteristics of XB-161 are determined by normative document GOST 25129 82.
When buying paint, you should make sure that it meets the state standard, and not TU (technical conditions). Also, the paintwork must be accompanied by a certificate of conformity.
Dye consumption per square meter averages 270 grams if the layer thickness is 25 microns. The viscosity of the paint is within 30–45 conventional units. This level of viscosity allows spray painting without using solvents.
The relative specific gravity of non-volatiles is up to 47%. Bending elasticity should not exceed 5 millimeters.
Paint for XB-161 facades is universal in application, it has a number of advantages:
- Temperatures at which the use of paint is permissible - from 20 degrees of frost to 40 degrees of heat.
- Front enamels XB-161 are characterized by affordability from a price point of view.
- In the production of perchlorovinyl paints, a light-resistant pigment is added to them, which ensures not only the bright color of the painted facade, but also the durability of the coating (6 years or more). The coating does not fade, since the pigment does not fade under the influence of ultraviolet radiation.
- Before applying XB-161, there is no need for priming the surface.
- The paint composition penetrates deep into the material to be painted, which allows you to strengthen the base and further protect it from the effects of negative environmental factors.
- XB-161 is supplied fully finished. The paint is already in a state of working viscosity.
- If desired, the composition can be tinted in 25 shades.
- XB-161 is suitable for almost all types of materials. In particular, when applied to metal, corrosion protection is provided.
- The coating withstands severe frosts.
- The coating lets steam through, which allows the material to “breathe”.
- The elasticity of the coating maintains its integrity during shrinkage of the building or vibration.
The XB-161 also has disadvantages:
- Pungent odor due to evaporation of volatile substances.
- Toxicity of vaporizing components.
- Flammability, therefore, fire extinguishing agents are necessary in places of paint storage.
- Paints must not be mixed with water.
- The paint's elasticity, although not bad, is still insufficient. Therefore, XB-161 should only be applied on perfectly even surfaces. Otherwise, do not avoid coating cracking.
- Painting is not allowed in extreme heat or in rainy weather.
to contents ↑Attention! At high air temperatures, it is important that the paint dries longer. To provide this possibility, a little liquid soap should be added to it. This will prevent the coating from cracking during drying.
Material application
Applying HV paint, although similar to performing painting with other dyes, has its own characteristics. First of all, such a paint must be kept at room temperature for 8-12 hours to make it less viscous.
The painted surface must be cleaned of dirt, grease stains and dust. It should also be flat, for which you can use putty. Before applying paint, it is recommended to varnish the surface (for example, varnish ХВ-148 is suitable).
During the entire working process, the paint must be well mixed, otherwise it quickly thickens. If the composition is still thickened, the question arises: how to dilute the paint? Xylene or solvent is suitable for this purpose. The measure is important here: the specific gravity of solvents should not exceed a tenth of the total volume.
XB-161 is applied in two layers. The first one is almost completely absorbed into the material to be painted, while the second one provides the color depth, that is, a decorative effect. The interval between the application of the layers is at least 24 hours.
