It is convenient to use emery cloth for local reconstruction of varnishing: spots, cracks, chips, abrasion. The cleaned surface is treated with acetone, which will remove fine particles of scraped varnish. After that, BF-6 glue is applied. The last step is re-wiping with a solvent.
BF-6 glue is an alcohol solution of phenol-formaldehyde resin with polyvinyl butyral, softeners and plasticizers. It is not subject to decay and corrosion, it is resistant to the influence of the atmosphere, oils, gasoline, kerosene, mold, water and acids, less resistant to alkalis, alcohols, solvents.
Manual cycle is sold in almost every hardware store. The tool is presented in an assortment of scraper widths, handle lengths. Note that the work of manual cycles with a short handle is tedious, but to clean the parquet from the old varnish will turn out better.
This process is laborious.Work requires accuracy and care, as when removing varnish, the top layer of wood is cut along the wood fibers. Be sure to pay attention to the nature of the cut in the manufactured profile:
