In the composition of the primer coating, the share of non-volatile substances is from 87 to 89%. To prepare the mixture, solvents are used: RP, P-4 and P-5.
After drying, the primer applied to the metal surface forms a waterproof, opaque, uniform gray film. The layer thickness varies from 65 to 70 microns, and the flow rate of the mixture does not exceed 330 g / m. The finished composition remains suitable for application for 12 hours at an air temperature of 20 - 22 degrees.

Soil is prepared half an hour before application:
- Hardener N3 is added to the base (zinc powder). Material ratio: 70 g of hardener and 100 g of solvent per kilogram of the main primer mixture.
- The composition is thoroughly mixed for 10 minutes, adjusted to the desired viscosity using a solvent RP.
- After stirring, filter through several layers of gauze. In this form, the composition is ready for use.
Surface preparation
Before applying the composition of the metal structure, you need to prepare in a certain way:
- Remove from the surface everything that interferes with painting and accelerates corrosion: metal chips, foreign matter, a layer of mineral oils, dust.
- Clean the prepared surface in three ways: mechanical, chemical, thermal. For chemical cleaning of the surface using drinking water, solvents, other compounds.
- After the structure is thoroughly cleaned, it is chromated or phosphated. The procedure improves the properties of the paintwork - adhesion, life.
- After the surface of the metal structure is thoroughly cleaned, degreased and prepared, proceed with the application of the primer.

Surface application
The primer EP-057 is applied in several ways:
- spraying - using special equipment;
- with a brush;
- roller.
The latter application option is appropriate if the surface area to be painted is small. If the metal structure is large, and the working conditions are cramped, the mixture is sprayed with pneumatic equipment. Oversized products are coated by airless spraying, provided that a high quality finished layer is required.
The viscosity of the working composition differs according to the selected method of applying soil to a metal surface. If zinc tread primer is applied to the structure:
- with a brush or roller, the composition is diluted to a viscosity of 60 - 80 s;
- pneumatic sprayer, the degree of viscosity of the primer is 16 - 20 s;
- by airless method, the tread is diluted to 20 - 40 s.
The temperature when applying the primer should not exceed 30 degrees. The composition is recommended to be applied in at least two layers. Drying time between stains of metal surfaces is a maximum of 2 hours.
Zinc powder in the primer settles, so the finished soil is stirred occasionally (every 10 to 15 minutes).

The base package weighing 46.8 kg contains the base, hardener and thinner. Store the zinc protector in darkened rooms, protecting from direct sunlight, moisture for 6 months from the date of production.
The composition may delaminate, the precipitate is mixed. Storage temperature does not exceed +40, may be below -40. Compliance with storage conditions is a guarantee of the quality of the finished composition.
Safety precautions
Epoxy primer is flammable and toxic. Manipulation near an open flame is strictly prohibited. All work, from preparation of the mixture to its application, is carried out only in well-ventilated places. In the process, personal protective equipment is used, from masks and glasses to rubber gloves.
The dry component of the mixture is volatile, so workers mixing or spraying the mixture should use a respirator to prevent the primer from entering the respiratory and digestive systems.
If the primer gets on the skin, it is washed. Use warm running water and soap.
