The main advantage of glue is ease of use. The liquid composition is applied not to the canvas, but to the surface to be decorated. The Oscar is flexible, so even a glued canvas can be easily adjusted. Other benefits of glue:

1. Stealth after drying. The dried wallpaper adhesive becomes transparent.
2. Quick cooking. Oscar is diluted with cold water, swells in 10 minutes and does not form lumps.
3. Universality. The diluted mixture is glued on glass fiberglass, fiberglass, non-woven and paper wallpapers. Oscars are applied to concrete, masonry, and other substrates.
4. The antiseptic in the composition prevents the appearance of fungus, mold, even if the room is very humid.
5. Economical. To prepare 3 l of the mixture, you need only 100 g of dry powder. The consumption of finished glue does not exceed 350 g per 1 square. m canvas.

Composition

Wallpaper mixture is available in dry and liquid form. Comprises:

Oscar dry mix is ​​sold in:

Ready composition

Oscar liquid adhesive for interior use is stored for up to 3 years in an unopened package. The composition is frost-resistant, for a month you can hold a container with glue at a temperature of up to -40 degrees. However, it becomes unusable after the 5th defrost.

Dry glue mixture

The Oscar one-component adhesive for internal work is also frost-resistant, but the shelf life is less than that of a liquid mixture and is 2 months. The product is odorless.

Consumption

Glue is economical. The consumption of the finished composition differs depending on what it is used for. 10 kg of dry mixture is enough to stick:

• 50 sq. m glass;
• 66 square meters m non-woven fabrics.

The same amount of kilograms will be spent on a 132 sq. m of the prepared surface.

Important! If a person uses the Oscar ready-to-use adhesive mixture, then 5 kg of wallpaper glue is enough for gluing 20-25 square meters. m canvas.

Instructions for use

A person interested in quality is learning the rules for preparing the mixture and applying the adhesive. Before starting work, prepares tools:

1. The capacity in which the required amount of glue is diluted.
2. Roller or wide brush for applying the composition.
3. Wooden spatula.
4. A clean rag that erases excess glue.
5. Spatulas: wide metal - to smooth the surface before gluing, and plastic - to smooth glued glass.
6. Clerical knife to crop leftover wallpaper.
7. Convenient stepladder.

Important! With Oscar glue they work in protective gloves.

Wall preparation

Before applying the finished adhesive, the surface:

• thoroughly clean with water from dirt, dust;
• remove the remnants of old wallpaper, peeling plaster, whitewash;
• cracks, seams, irregularities are cleaned with sandpaper;
• a shiny smooth surface is brought to a matte state;
• level the walls using gypsum plaster, then putty them and grind them.

In conclusion, the walls or ceiling are primed with diluted Oscar wallpaper glue or latex primer. The procedure fixes weak, friable or crumbling bases. After applying the primer, the wall or ceiling is allowed to dry for about 2 hours.

Cooking composition

Prepare the working mixture as follows:

1. The required amount of cold clean water is poured into a clean plastic container.
2. Continuously stirring, in a thin stream, add a dry composition to the center formed by stirring the funnel.
3. Leave the glue mixture to swell.
4. Stirred again after 5-10 minutes until a homogeneous dense mass is formed.

Proceed to gluing the surface with glass wallpaper or fiberglass.

On a note! If a ready-made adhesive mixture is used for work, before starting gluing surfaces, the composition also needs to be mixed.

Glue application

"Oscar" is applied with a roller or a wide brush, evenly distributed over the surface to be decorated, wall, ceiling. Make sure that the adhesive layer is:

• thick enough (at least 0.5 mm);
• wider than the glued web.

Fiberglass is glued to the surface immediately after application and distribution of the composition. After that, within 20 minutes, you can adjust the position of the canvas on the wall or ceiling. Align the canvases using a spatula, from the middle of the strip to the edges, with a herringbone movement. Cullets have a porous structure, so glue seeps through the canvas. The leaked excess is evenly distributed over the canvas with a clean rag. Fiberglass is glued butt.

Mandatory conditions for gluing glass:

1. The room should not be too wet.
2. Work is carried out at a temperature of +10 to +23 degrees.
3. Do not allow drafts.
4. Protect the surface from direct sunlight until the Oscar glue dries.

On a note! If the glass cloth is glued for further staining, then wait at least 3 days before the paint work begins, so that the glue dries.

Oscar glue analogs

The following analogues are presented on the building materials market:

1. Quelyd Optima is made in Sweden, universal. The composition is suitable for gluing glass and non-woven fabrics. It is applied to the surface by roller, by machine. Moisture resistant. Consists of modified starch, vinyl additives. For 1 square. m up to 250 g of glue is required. It takes about 24-48 hours.
2. "Optimist" is an inexpensive domestic glue suitable for glass. It becomes transparent after drying. Sold in a plastic package of 5 or 10 kg. For 1 square. m up to 0.5 l of adhesive is required.
3. Homakoll 202 is a universal water-dispersion adhesive for cullet, structured canvas and fiberglass. Sold ready to use in containers of 10 kg. For 1 square. m requires up to 300 g of glue.
