Features and properties

The exact composition of the glue is constantly being improved, and the range of “Moment” products is expanding. Only the high quality of Henkel products remains unchanged. Glues are produced according to GOST, are included in the group 20.52.10.190 according to OKDP 2. On sale you can find many varieties of “Moment”, which differ in the scope of use, instructions for use, specific technical parameters and operating conditions. However, the properties of most formulations are similar:

• a short period of initial solidification, the possibility of using the product after 12-24 hours;
• lack of cracking, cracking of the adhesive joint, even with prolonged use;
• water resistance, the ability to apply for bonding objects in contact with water;
• transparent or matte structure (in the first case, the seam will be invisible, so colorless glue can be used to repair delicate products);
• excellent resistance to solvents, oils, gasoline (you can dissolve the composition only with special means such as "anticlue");
• frost resistance and heat resistance.

Some types of adhesives conduct current, because metal crumb is added to them. On the contrary, there are compounds that do not conduct electricity, they can be used as insulation.

The compositions are available in different packaging: tubes, cans, pistol cylinders, pencils, buckets. The volume of the container can be equal to 30, 50, 125 and 750 ml, there are also industrial packaging (3-10 l). For small works it is possible to buy a small tube without overpayment.

Glue deficiencies

Cons are also available.Due to high consumer demand, they are more often falsified than others, while there is a risk of toxic, harmful components (cheap solvents) in the composition. Most adhesives have an unpleasant odor, although depending on the type of "flavor" changes and becomes stronger or weaker. However, after drying, the glue line is not dangerous and does not emit any smell.

With careless use, the glue stays on the skin for a long time. It is quite difficult to wash dried spots, you will have to use soda, other abrasives, wipe with oils, wash with solvents. It is also difficult to open the tube, if the lid is stuck, you need to mechanically clean the glue that has come out, which is not always possible. "Moment" is not suitable for bonding polyethylene, polypropylene, some of its types are not suitable for Teflon and silicone products.

Also, the composition tolerates freezing up to -30 degrees, without reducing the adhesion strength. Limitations on the type of materials to be bonded must be taken into account: Do not use “Moment Rubber” on plasticized PVC, styrofoam, PET, polypropylene.

"Moment-1"

Clay "Moment Classic-1" - a well-known tool intended for domestic purposes. It is considered universal, since it glues any materials and structures in different variations. Using this glue, you can lay laminate and linoleum, perform veneering and postforming, seal the edges on wood products, and fasten plastic panels.

The glue contains a special thickener, which prevents spreading, there are also plasticizers that soften the stiffness of the seam. The glue withstands temperatures ranging from -40 ... + 110 degrees, after freezing it retains all qualities, is moisture resistant.

"The moment of the Marathon"

Glue brand "Marathon" is intended for shoes: repair, restoration, sealing. The tool is suitable for any shoe materials, including delicate (suede, some types of textiles), as well as cork, TEP, PVC, felt. The glue is elastic, does not deteriorate from prolonged wearing of shoes, is resistant to environmental factors, can withstand temperatures within -40 ... + 110 degrees.

“Moment Gel”

It is considered universal, since it is suitable for most well-known materials: leather, rubber, wood, metal, plastic, fabric, ceramics, glass, etc. Using it, you can fasten polystyrene, soft and hard PVC. The gel is waterproof, frost-resistant, ideal for inclined surfaces and large areas. The gel consistency prevents the glue from spreading, dripping, enhances elasticity and reduces the risk of cracking of the glue line.

"Moment Joiner"

This series includes four types that are used to work with wood and a number of other materials:

1. "Joiner Express." The product dries in 15 minutes, is moisture resistant, does not contain toluene and solvents, so it is odorless. It is applied to external and internal works, is suitable for all breeds of a tree, veneer, MDF, chipboard, fiberboard, accessories. Also suitable for work with straw, cardboard, paper.
2. "Joiner Super PVA D2." Also used for any wood products and its derivatives, has an average degree of water resistance (D2). The adhesive layer will be transparent after drying. The composition is solvent free.
3. "Joiner Super PVA D3." It differs from the previous product only in enhanced moisture resistance.
4. Joiner Instant Grasp. Unique acrylic based adhesive that dries in 10 seconds. Suitable for gluing wood to wood, to metal or PVC, shows a high bond strength, suitable for crafts and repair work.

"Moment Cork"

This contact adhesive serves as a special solution for gluing cork with cork, as well as for combining cork products with other materials. It is usually used for laying wall, floor coverings, cork moldings, substrates from this material. It perfectly connects cork with rubber, felt, wood, metal, PVC. The glue is characterized by water resistance and frost resistance.

Second adhesives

Such tools are intended for fastening any materials in a short time, therefore their second name is “second”. Usually used for working with small surfaces. It is undesirable to apply on leather products: over time, they often dry out.

In addition to conventional bonding, masters often apply the method of mixing superglue and soda. The result is a white, durable acrylic-like substance that can reliably seal up any defect. Care must be taken with series adhesives: they are toxic, combustible! After application, the master has just a couple of seconds to fix the position of the parts, then the seam will be formed.

The most famous adhesives in the series:

Wallpaper mixtures

Glues of this series are also available in several versions.Before use, they need to be bred correctly, but to do it at home is simple. It is only necessary to pour dry powder into a measured amount of water, mix the solution thoroughly.

Here are the main adhesives in the series:

1. "Moment Wallpaper Classic." Instant composition based on modified starch. Smooth in structure, without lumps, it is economically consumed, and it can be stored in finished form for up to 10 days. It is applied to paper wall-paper, including for corrugated and relief, duplex, structural.
2. "Moment Flizelin." It is applied to the wall, makes it possible to adjust the position of the paintings. It has a high gripping ability, allows you to glue joints directly on the wall. It is applied to all types of non-woven wallpaper.
3. "Moment Indicator." A quality product with an application indicator, used for vinyl wallpapers, silk screen printing and foamed vinyl. After drying, it becomes completely transparent.
4. "The Moment of Vinyl." Ideal for all types of vinyl wallpapers. It has a new improved formula, due to which it becomes ready to work in 3 minutes.
5. "Moment Extra." Instant adhesive with the addition of methyl cellulose, which has increased adhesion to the base. It has great strength, contains antifungal supplements. Allows you to glue heavy wallpaper: embossed, textile, structural.

Also, the “wallpaper” line sells glue for gluing wallpaper and fixing joints - a finished composition in a 120 g tube, which has a convenient nose and helps to glue hard-to-reach spots.

"Liquid Nails"

The most famous product in the series is “Super Powerful Moment”. Available in two versions: matte and transparent. Such a tool can replace fixing materials (screws, screws), it is used for indoor and outdoor use. One-component adhesive allows you to fix even heavy structures without additional installation. The main properties of the glue are as follows:

• hardens under the influence of moisture;
• leaves time to adjust the position of the parts (several minutes);

Epoxy adhesives

Epoxy Adhesive Moment - a two-component composition comprising an epoxy resin and a hardener. They are used for a variety of materials and are available in liquid form (Super Epoxy) and in the form of plasticine (Epoxilin series). Epoxy adhesives are ideal for metal, they bond plastic, ceramic, glass and wood structures equally well. Resins easily withstand frost, heat, repair cracks and any defects, tightly soldering with the material.

Storage conditions and usage tips

For all means, approximately the same rules apply: they must be stored at a temperature of -20 ... + 30 degrees, away from heating appliances and sources of fire. It is advisable not to allow the rays of the sun to be in high humidity. Keep formulations only in their original packaging.

Before applying any glue, it is important to thoroughly clean the base (or both surfaces). Remove dust, dirt, degrease.Any old materials, especially poorly fixed, must also be removed. Smooth bases should be pre-sanded, incised to improve grip. Next, you need to apply glue to one or both surfaces (as indicated in the instructions), fix them, wait until completely dry.

To apply wallpaper adhesives, use rollers or brushes, which should be prepared in advance. It is important to breed powder only with cold water. If the finished adhesive stored for 10 days has thickened, it can be slightly diluted with water.

Precautionary measures

When working with adhesives that have an unpleasant smell, you should arrange good ventilation or use a respirator. Despite the absence of toluene in the “Moment”, too long contact without personal protective equipment can cause poisoning with symptoms such as nausea, headaches, pallor. In a similar situation, you need to see a doctor!

It is strictly forbidden to work with adhesives near the fire: most are flammable! When used carelessly, super-glues firmly stick together fingers. To clean the skin, you need to wipe it with alcohol, acetone or wash it several times with warm water and soap, the glue will probably completely disappear.
