A colored or transparent silicone bumper during continuous operation quickly gets dirty and becomes unattractive in appearance. Stains are not removed by cleaning agents or by other means. With minimal time and using available improvised materials, you can update an outdated product by coloring it in any chosen shade.
What is required?
To change the color of the bumper you will need:
- hair dye;
- transparent plastic bag;
- gloves (those that come with the dye are suitable);
- soap.
Procedure
Improving the appearance of the silicone case occurs in several stages:
Remove the contents of the box of paint, set aside a balm (it will not be needed).
Put on gloves.
Squeeze the composition into a plastic bag.
Gently mix the paint, gently squeezing the package from the outside.
Put the bumper in the bag.
Twist the contents, evenly distributing the dye.
Wrap the bag and wait at least half an hour (preferably about 2 hours), mix occasionally.
Remove the painted bumper, hold under running water.
After the water becomes clear, wash the cover again with soap.
Wipe the bumper dry.
Useful Tips
Simple rules, adhering to which you can get the desired result:
- choose the cheapest hair dye, because the cost of the product does not affect the quality of coloring;
- choose the right color for the paint composition - for bumpers of bright colors, black or another dark color is best, a transparent product can be painted in any tone;
- wash the freshly painted cover thoroughly with soap, so that it will not leave marks;
- choose resistant paint, do not purchase ammonia-free formulations or tinted hair balms.
Abrasions and dirt on the bumper cannot be removed by either professional or improvised means. In this case, it is not necessary to discard the battered product and purchase a new one. Using hair dye, you can transform the cover beyond recognition by choosing any new shade for it.
