Description and application of varnish
Varnish PF-283 (4C) - a high-gloss solution of alkyd resins with various modifying additives. The tool is designed to work on wooden, metal surfaces with the aim of their protective and decorative finish.
The manufacturers' descriptions indicate that the paintwork material is suitable for substrates previously painted with alkyd enamels and oil paints or for unpainted surfaces. The material is used only for internal work.
Varnish is produced according to GOST 5470-75. It is very convenient to use, since it is one-component and does not require mixing of ingredients. The varnish is ideal for interior finishes, it can be applied to the base using different methods - with a brush, paint sprayer, etc. Advantages of the product: water resistance, excellent hardness.
Most often, varnish is used for coating on such products:

- frames;
- window sills;
- fittings;
- furniture;
- different metal parts.
Composition and properties
The composition of the paint material contains the following components:
- resins;
- vegetable oils;
- distilled tall oil;
- fatty acid;
- organic solvents;
- desiccants.
Properties of varnish distinguish it from the list of analogues. The material forms a reliable, strong coating, which not only protects the metal and wood, but also emphasizes the structure of the latter. After creating a film, it is difficult to damage it mechanically.
Other properties of varnish:
- lack of reaction to abrasion;
- beautiful appearance thanks to gloss;

Technical characteristics of varnish:
- the appearance of the film - without impurities, transparent;
- gloss according to the glossmeter - 60%;
- conditional viscosity (according to VZ-4) at a temperature of +20 degrees - 40-60 s;
- solids content - 50%;
- the drying period at a temperature of +20 degrees - 36 hours, at +60 degrees - 3 hours;
- bending elasticity - 1 mm;
- hardness according to the pendulum device - 0.35 units;
- resistance to water - 8 hours.
Method of applying varnish
To create a quality coating, it is important to carefully prepare the surface. It is cleaned of dust, any other contaminants, including oils, grease. The tree should be pre-sanded with sandpaper with fine grain. Iron products or other metal bases are cleaned of scale, rust, and degreased with solvents.
The varnish must be mixed well, as a number of components can settle to the bottom. If it is too thick, you can dilute it with white spirit, turpentine, their mixture 1: 1, nephras.After dilution, the paintwork material must comply with the viscosity specified in the technical specifications (the indicator is measured with a VZ-243 or VZ-4 viscometer at room temperature).
On new surfaces that have not yet been painted, you must pre-apply color tint or colorless primer - if desired. This is required to extend the life of wood and varnish, to enhance aesthetics, emphasizing texture. On metal surfaces, the use of special metal primers will enhance the degree of adhesion to PF-283 varnish.
to contents ↑Application of the material is carried out manually with a brush on 1 - 2 layers or pass with a spray gun. It is important that the substrate is completely dry. To dry each layer, leave 36 hours or conduct hot drying at +60 degrees. The approximate consumption of material is 70 - 75 grams per square meter (we are talking about a single-layer coating).
Color schemes
The varnish is available in the form of a transparent liquid, which has different shades of brown - from light to dark.
Packing and storage
When storing the paintwork, it is important to protect from fire, there should not be any sources nearby. Direct sunlight, heating devices, heating pipes are excluded. The container is tightly closed during storage so that moisture does not penetrate. Warranty storage period is 12 months under full observance of the conditions (temperature -40 ... + 40 degrees).
Varnish is available in plastic and metal containers, packaged in different volumes. Cans contain 1, 2, 3 liters, 0.8 liters, 2.3 - 2.8 liters. In implementation there is an industrial container - 15, 25, 57 kg (barrels, flasks, drums).

Security measures
Work with the product must be in rubber gloves, in a respirator. During the painting of products in the room, ventilation should work or windows open, after the work is completed, the room is ventilated. If varnish enters the skin, it is washed with soap. After drying, the coating is 100% safe for humans.
