Primer EP-0199 is an epoxy-based paintwork material used in the industrial field to protect metal products (mainly black) from the harmful effects of precipitation, acids and salt solutions, oil products, chemical compounds. Application area

- water - during the day;
- petroleum products - over 2 hours;
- solutions of sodium chloride (3%) and sodium hydroxide (5%) - more than a day.
The layer dries completely in a day at a temperature of about +20 ° C.

The suspension is made on the basis of epoxy resin, resistant to the influence of halogens, acids and alkalis, which has good adhesion. It is obtained as a result of polycondensation (polymer synthesis) of epichlorohydrin with various organic compounds. The soil layer effectively resists corrosion and is characterized by high water resistance.
The composition also includes:
- plasticizer;
- fillers;
- pigments.
Among the characteristics of the tool:
- Brown colour;
- consumption per 1 m2 of working surface - 130–175 g;
- layer thickness 50–70 microns;
- the number of layers recommended by the manufacturer is 3 (in this case, the treated surface will retain its properties for at least 5 years);
- the share of non-volatiles is 72–78% of the mass and 60–64% of the volume;
- pot life after mixing with hardener at +20 (± 2) ° С - 8 hours.
EP-0199 is produced in Russia according to TU 2312-016-98605321-2007. The main purpose is priming and coating of ferrous metal structures. It is offered by the manufacturer in containers of 0.9, 20 and 55 kg.
A certificate of conformity was issued to the facility - this is a certificate of state registration issued by the Office of the Federal Service for Rospotrebnadzor. At LKM there is also a hygienic conclusion of the Office of the Federal Service of Rospotrebnadzor for the city of St. Petersburg, the effect of which is distributed throughout Russia.

Before starting work, thoroughly mix all the components and ensure that the composition becomes homogeneous. Pay attention to the conditions under which the suspension was stored. If the temperature drops below 0 ° C, do not rush to use. Place the mixture in a room that has warmed up to +10 ° C and above. Use after about a day.
Instructions are attached to the two-pack material in which the procedure for connecting the base to the hardener is prescribed. Dilution of the composition with a solvent in a proportion of 10: 1 is allowed. Failure to comply with this ratio will reduce the protective properties of the coating.

Before applying the mixture to a structural element or equipment, clean the surface from dust and dirt, remove the "growths" of rust, and then degrease it. Work is performed under the following weather conditions:
- indoors or outdoors - from +5 ° С to + 35 ° С;
- relative humidity ≤80%.
On a note! After mixing the base with the hardener, the composition must be consumed within 30 minutes.
The tool is applied using tools:
- Roller. Suitable for quick processing of flat surfaces without joints.
- Brush. For applying a layer in hard-to-reach places, however, work is performed more slowly.
- Airbrush. Indispensable in the process of covering large areas.
After priming, the surface is coated with paints and enamels.
On a note. After completing the work, clean the tool with a solvent (No. 646, 647), acetone or xylene. Since paintwork materials are flammable, used rags are disposed of.

Work away from open flames and in places that are well ventilated. To avoid contact with skin and respiratory organs, use personal protective equipment:
- overalls;
- respirator.
Attention! If primer particles get on the body, immediately remove them with a solvent. Then wash the affected area with warm water using soap.
Transportation and storage
It is possible to transport soil by any means of transport, provided that the air temperature does not fall below –40 ° С and does not exceed +40 ° С. At the same time, it is necessary to protect the containers from the direct impact of precipitation, make sure that direct sunlight does not fall on the container.
Store the material in carefully sealed packaging in rooms to which unauthorized persons do not have access. The temperature should be in the range from –30 ° С to +30 ° С. Guaranteed shelf life - 12 months from the date of production.
Due to its technical characteristics, EP-0199 acts as a universal paint material suitable for the protection of any metal surfaces from corrosion. Among the pluses is the possibility of applying to places where rust has already appeared. In this case, the tool will prevent its further distribution.
