Color trends of the global and Russian automobile industry
The survey results cover global global trends that do not take into account country divisions. But company designer Elke Dirks claims that Russian customers are affected by the same trends as consumers from other countries in the EMEA region.
The specialists involved in the study took into account the color preferences of the respondents of the three main target groups by age: 16–35 years old, 36–55 years old and older than 56 years. Among them, the last age group was considered the most significant. In it, preference was given to automotive coatings with glass particles, as well as vehicles of burgundy and green (British Racing Green) shades.
For cars painted in calm green tones, there is growing interest in Russia. If earlier this color was chosen only by 1% of buyers, now their share is 5%. Also, the popularity of green is typical for countries in South America.
Despite the fact that Russian car owners are increasingly interested in chromatic tones, white color still occupies a leading position with an indicator of 28%. The second most popular is achromatic black, whose share is 16%. And more and more attention is given to blue, brown, beige shades.
